CURATORIAL NOTE
The Right to Remain Wild, from the series Uncurated Childhood, interrogates how a child's sense of self is gradually assembled through the subtle and pervasive structures of socialization operating across domestic, institutional, and cultural domains. The painting reflects on how normative innocence, social conduct, and subjectivity are quietly regulated and optimized through broader regimes of expectation, while reclaiming the child's innate curiosity, unpredictability, and right to develop beyond socially curated ideals.
