36x36 Inches Original Art

Behold, a vision fair, where roses do entwine,

In love’s embrace, their forms divine.

This canvas doth portray with artful grace,

The tale of love ‘twixt two of same fair race.

Upon their brows, the roses bloom so bright,

In shades of gray acrylics, ‘neath day and darkest night.

Their petals soft, in tender, silken fold,

Do speak of passions deep, and love untold.

The faces, calm, yet burning with desire,

Show love’s full spectrum, from a spark to fire.

Serenity in eyes so softly closed,

Speaks of a trust, in love’s sweet arms reposed.

Their cheeks, though pale, with passion’s heat do glow,

As brushstrokes light as whispers, soft and low,

Impart the warmth of love’s embrace so tight,

In shades of gray, ‘neath both the day and night.

Oh, what a vision, this, where roses fair,

In human form, their love and passion share.

In every stroke, a tale of love doth lie,

In every petal, whispers of a sigh.

For gay love here, with roses intertwined,

Doth show how deeply human hearts are twined.

This painting, with its tender grace and might,

Doth captures love in shades of black and white.

A testament to passion pure and true,

In roses' bloom, and faces' tranquil hue.

This acrylic painting is a profound depiction of gay love, expressed through the symbolic use of roses and the deep spectrum of human emotions. The artist's skillful use of brushstrokes and monochromatic palette enhances the intensity and depth of the portrayal, creating a powerful and moving representation of passion, longing and affection. The artist has captured the gay relationship among roses that binds limitlessly. The intertwined roses and serene expressions of the figures together tell a story of love that is both tender and strong, deeply rooted and beautifully blossoming. The artist through this work portrays that love has no gender and it takes the form of human passion the way it feels strongest and intimately connected to the other at any given time of the day! This piece of art reflects the emotions of rose petals during the morning mist where they are powerful as well as vulnerable to their loved ones.

The artist’s brushstrokes are both deliberate and expressive, adding depth and dimension to the painting. The roses are rendered with gentle, delicate strokes, emphasizing their softness and fragility. This technique brings out the beauty and intricacy of each petal, symbolizing the tenderness of their existence. The figures are crafted with bold, defining strokes, giving them a sculptural intent. This technique highlights the strength and solidity of their bond, contrasting with the delicate roses to show the balance of tenderness and resilience in their relationship. The use of light and shadow is masterful, creating a sense of depth, realism and romanticism. The interplay of light and dark shades adds to the emotional intensity of the painting, capturing the dual nature of love—its joys and its challenges.

The artist does not see this painting as a decorative item, but rather as an incandescent for sparking meaningful conversations. A picture of this caliber should evoke a deep emotional response from art enthusiasts and collectors.

About the Original Painting

Joy, the artist, produced this single-piece original painting in March 2024. The painting was done on a 36x36 inches stretched canvas using acrylic paint. The canvas is made with archival-quality natural cotton, this heavy duty canvas was four times gesso primed by the artist before starting the work. The medium/rough texture surface of the canvas is perfect for use with acrylic, and the frame is professionally constructed, with medium-weight cotton duck stretched around 1.5" profile kiln-dried stretcher bars and held in place with a flexible spline, so artists can paint on all four edges. Once finished, the artist applied two coats of archival gloss varnish for lifelong protection.
